This coming Saturday, May 21, the Westchase community Westchase celebrates its 30th anniversary, and you’re invited!
The Westchase Community Association (WCA) Board of Directors, its management staff and Westchase’s Voting Members are all hosting a celebration of all that is great about our neighborhood and its accomplishments over the last three decades. The party will be held in the Westchase Town Center (the location of Tijuana Flats, World of Beer and Maloney’s) from noon to 6 p.m.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all Westchase families and their kids and their pets come out and celebrate Westchase’s birthday,” said WCA President Shawn Yesner.
As incentive for folks to come out, Yesner, and some other folks, have agreed to climb into the party’s dunk tank to raise money for the Westchase Charitable Association.
The party is the result of months of work by a planning committee consisting of WCA Directors Jim Brinker, Blakely Echeverry and Yesner and Association Manager Debbie Sainz.
The party will feature food trucks, a DJ, face painting, carnival games, glitter tattoos, a balloon artist (from noon to 3 p.m.), a caricature artist (from 3-6 p.m.) pony rides (from noon to 2 p.m.), and rides on a trackless train (from 2-6 p.m.). Bangin’ Bungee will also provide rock climbing wall, bungee jumping and a bounce house.
While the nearby restaurants will also be open, the party features food trucks like Wackamole, an Italian ice truck, Westchase BBQ and Que Royale, which serves southern cooking. The WCA will also have its popcorn stand serving free treats.
Other Westchase-based organizations have also been invited to participate, including the Westchase Fire Station, whose crew will have a firetruck on hand beginning at 1 p.m. for pictures with the kids. The Westchase Freebooters Krewe will attend and WOW staff will be serving birthday cake from their tent.
Happy birthday, Westchase! We’ll see you on the afternoon of Saturday, May 21!
